PSYCHOANALYST, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, AUTHOR, & SPEAKER

Exploring the emotional histories that shape our lives
I work with adults, couples, and clinicians seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the emotional histories that shape their lives.
My clinical and scholarly work focuses on trauma, race, culture, identity, intergenerational experiences and the complexisites of belonging. Drawing from contemporary psychoanalysis and nearly four decades of clinical experience, I help patients explore longstanding emotional patterns, relationship difficulties, experiences of loss, and questions of meaning and selfhood.
Located in Pasadena, California, I provide individual and couples psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, consultation, supervision, and forensic services.

A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
People often seek therapy because they find themselves struggling with recurring emotional patterns, relationship difficulties, experiences of loss, or a sense that something in their lives is not working despite their best efforts to change it. While symptoms such as anxiety, depression, shame, conflict, or low self-esteem may bring someone into treatment, these difficulties are often rooted in emotional experiences and relational histories that have not yet been fully understood.
My approach is grounded in contemporary psychoanalysis and nearly four decades of clinical experience. Together, we will create a thoughtful and collaborative space in which we can explore not only present concerns, but also the deeper experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns that shape your sense of self and your way of being with others.
I work with adults and couples facing a wide range of concerns, including trauma, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, cultural and racial experiences, life transitions, grief, and questions of meaning and belonging. Because every individual is unique, therapy must be responsive to the particular needs, history, and goals of each person.
Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis offer more than symptom relief. They provide an opportunity to develop a richer understanding of oneself, greater freedom in relationships, and a deeper capacity to engage fully in life.
